GEORGIA, MISSISSIPPI STILL RECOVERING FROM JANUARY’s DEADLY TORNADOES

The National Weather Service reports 40 tornadoes touched down in the southern U.S. on January 21-22, 2017, with the strongest one an EF-3 which hit Albany, Georgia.

Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney sent his state agency’s representatives to locales in Hattiesburg, Petal, and Purvis, to help victims of the January 21-22, 2017, tornadoes.

The January 2, 2017, Georgia tornado generated about 4,000 insurance claims and also resulted in a presidential disaster declaration for Dougherty County.

SAN FRANCISCO SKYSCRAPER IS AT THE CENTER OF NUMEROUS CONTROVERSIES

San Francisco’s sinking Millennium Tower has a liability insurance policy covering the building which may be insufficient given its structural problems and the litigation the Tower has generated, Bloomberg reports.

The 58-story, 419-unit Millennium Tower is safe to occupy, the city of San Francisco stated, after inspectors visited the site twice over the past two months.
