STORIES IN THE WORKS

The I.I.I.’s Jeanne Salvatore will be interviewed live on Wednesday, November 19, at 6:20 a.m., ET, during The Weather Channel’s Wake Up With Al.  The topic is this I.I.I. news release.

The I.I.I.’s Salvatore provided information to Washington, D.C.’s NBC affiliate (coverage after a water main break) and Real Simple magazine (homeowners insurance).

SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT

The polar vortex has been the talk of social media this week. With temperatures dropping below the freezing point in much of the U.S., people are offering tips to get ready for the icy blast before it reaches their city. The Weather Channel posted an article showing a few of the temperature highlights so far (it was -25 degrees, for instance, today in Casper, Wyoming) as well as reporting on what to expect in the coming days.

The I.I.I.’s Halloween press release gained a lot of traction on social, getting clicked on over 1,800 times.

In addition, the I.I.I.’s release on the four steps a driver should take after being in a car accident received more than 150 views in the past week.

MEDIA MATTERS

CNN reached its lowest audience in 20-plus years in the 9 p.m., ET, weekday hour on Monday , November 10, with only about 181,000 viewers watching CNN at that time.

MSNBC’s Manhattan-based digital and dayside editorial groups will be seated alongside one another at The Bridge, on 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s 3rd Floor, starting next week.

The I.I.I. is cited regularly in the media as an authoritative source of insurance information. To access the current I.I.I. press clips, click here
